Zen Sushi

I have been going to this place for the last 6 to 7 years, since I was in high school. Steve and his wife stella have always put there customers first. Providing excellent service and unbelievable food to eat. I have always recommended this place to people and they are never been disappointed. It's sad that they are finally closing down after serving us for so long. It was an honor to eat here, steve is an excellent sushi chef and his food shows it. I hope the best for him in the future and wish that he continues his success. Sushi zen will be missed.

Been coming here for years. Usually order for take out and service is sometimes slow, but great food, amazing quality. Best sushi in Guildford area, never fails to satisfy ☺️

Korean owned and operated. Price is not bad and the fish quality is decent but for some reason, and perhaps it was just this visit, the rice was really mushy which was kind of gross. Vinegar ratio in the rice was decent though. Not true green tea served. Also service was very slow.

I am devastated that sushi zen is closing. This restaurant has been satisfying my cravings since grade 8 and I wish the best for both Steven and Stella. All of my visits in this store has been excellent. Thank you for all the delicious sushi that you have served and for the memories that I made in that store. Sushi Zen will never be forgotten in my heart.

I love the sushi here. Everything is so fresh (fish and deep fried food) and inexpensive. Server is nice. Nothing to complain about. My favourite sushi place in town.

I was craving tuna and I was treated to a beautiful tuna roll. It was so fresh and the texture was melt in your mouth. I also had a negitoro roll and avocado roll which were also fresh and well made. A very tasty, satisfying experience. Excellent friendly service too.

Best resteraunt for a very cheap price

Greatest sushi place in guildford

I like getting their salmon and tuna combo. The rolls have a lot of fish and just enough rice to bind things together (first time I actually appreciated a basic roll) their food is fresh and the staff always greet you with a warm smile! On occasion they will throw in a free sample of their house roll! Definitely a lot of bang for your buck !

There are only few places that I go when craving for good sushi. Sushi Zen is one of them. Love it! Amazing! I would recommend it everyone.

Very very good sushi, some of the best I've ever had actually. Not the best service though. We were the only two people in the restaurant and still waited a long, long time to get our bill, then waited even longer because they don't tell you that you pay up front, not at your table. Other than that, delicious food.

Decided to give this place a try after seeing all the raving reviews. Stunning. Small place, small kitchen, but a warm atmosphere. You have to try the special rolls here. Perfect balance of fillings, toppings, and rice. The Zen Roll, their signature roll I suppose, is a Thai fusion - sour, hot, and sweet. It's hardly a sushi roll, as each piece is deep fried individually. Even the miso soup that comes with the lunch box tastes superb - white miso and not salty at all. Competitive pricing and ample parking. Definitely lives up to its ratings.

Very tasty and large portions! The massive deep fried California roll I had was only $7.75 - very well priced. Visited on a Friday around 12:15pm and got a table with no issue. Good spot.

I liked this place a lot for my first time visit. For some odd reason, they offer 10% off if you order take out. If you're looking to not pay for tips, I think this would be the best way to go about it. I would go back to this place again, and try other foods.

I love their prices and Sushi Chef Steven is pretty awesome. Knows his customers by name. Las Vegas rolls/ sushimi combo. Yummy. He would even deliver my son's lunch to the elementary school in the back. Same price as hot lunch. Way more delicious kid's eat every bite 💯👍 thanks Steven

Always good food & friendly service. This little sushi joint is a husband and wife family owned establishment. Here we have a Miso soup and California combo. As you can see it's a small restaurant but have a steady flow of customers and sometimes can have a wait.

We always get our sushi from sushi zen. They are always busy at dinner, If you walk in for take out you get 10% off. Very friendly service

Quite traditional sushi. Very fresh as they run out of fish rather than keep to much in stock. The rice is excellent in terms of texture and temperature. Chef knows what he's doing.

A couple years ago, I had a really bad experience here. Went tonight to order dinner and bring it home and it was FANTASTIC. I absolutely loved the Gyozas. I am usually very picky with the way Gyozas are cooked and Sushi Zen makes them perfect. I'll be back!!

This place is AMAZING. I use to go here all the time when I went to the high school up the street. I come her occasionally and Steven and Stela always remember me. The food is always great, and quality is superb. I’m disappointed in the comments saying they use farmed salmon and the rolls are too big etc. A lot of sushi places use farmed salmon because why would they risk fish with salmonella, worms and parasites? Don’t give the restaurant 1 star because they use farmed salmon and go try the food out before you review. Go eat tuna hereSome of the rolls are big but it’s common sense to know what you’re ordering? Like yam tempura roll? Common sense to know that yam tempura will come in big pieces? This place has offered such an amazing environment every time I come and when I bring in new people. Sushi Zen is a literal gem.

Very good quality sushi and side dishes, with large portion sizes. Too bad salmon is farmed. Friendly staff. Clean albeit basic interior design/furniture. Recommended.

My friends and I have been going to Zen since they opened and it has always felt welcoming and warm. Steve and Stella, the couple who own and run the restaurant, memorized all of our names pretty much by the second time we went there. They make everybody feel like more than just a customer.The food is also of terrific quality. Everything consistently tastes fresh and delicious. My personal favourites incude the spicy sashimi salad and the BC roll. I find myself comparing every other sushi restaurant I try to Sushi Zen, and nothing has beaten it yet.

The food & people that run this restaurant are amazing. I frequent this place almost every week and have always had a super positive experience! :)
